This role provides opportunity for clinical leadership, clinician development, and service wide consultation. The Specialist Under 12 Senior Clinician role has emerged from a focussed government initiative to ensure equitable access to the public mental health system for children aged under 12 years of age.

**About Us**

Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) provides assessment and treatment for infants, children, adolescents, young people and their families. We work with the 0-18 age in the Southern Region. We provide a comprehensive assessment service and a range of treatment options including inpatient treatment in times of crisis, community (outpatient) treatment, group programs, family therapy, and specialist services. The Intake, Assessment, Consultation and Brief Treatment Team (iACT) provides up to six sessions of initial assessment and treatment for referrals received by our service. We work with families in addressing a number of complex issues that families may be experiencing including school refusal, parent/child relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, self-harm, suicidal thinking, eating disorders, and psychosis.

**About the Role**

The position is of a senior mental health clinician with training, qualifications and experience in assessing and treating under 12-year-olds with mental health problems. This service-wide responsibility, along with involvement in the iACT Leadership Team and wider ELMHS Senior Leadership Team, provide scope for clinical growth and highly engaged professional satisfaction.

This position will suit an individual who enjoys working collaboratively with families to address their identified areas of concern. This is a fast paced team that thrives on multidisciplinary team involvement.

We have a 0.6EFT part-time position available on the team. The position is primarily based in Dandenong and the core business hours of this team are 8.30 -5.00pm.

The position is an Allied Health Grade 3 or Psychologist Grade 3.
