**Role**:
**Annual Leave**

A full-time employee is entitled to 152 hours (20 days) annual leave in respect of each twelve months of service and accrues progressively during a year of service according to the employee's ordinary hours of work. Part-time employees receive annual leave entitlements on a pro rata basis calculated according to the time fraction worked.

**Additional paid leave - education support class**

A full-time education support class employee is entitled to 228 hours (30 days) additional paid leave in respect of each calendar year. Part-time employees receive additional paid leave entitlements on a pro rata basis calculated according to the time fraction worked.

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

**Responsibilities**:
The roles and responsibilities of the student wellbeing officer includes:

- provide emotional support, using a range of therapeutic interventions and knowledge of risk and protective framework
- conduct Psychosocial assessments of students, including crisis management and/or risk assessments
- create, organise and facilitate evidence-based programs that assist vulnerable students to develop life skills including communication, help-seeking, emotional regulation, which assist them to be resourceful and resilient at school and beyond i.e. Year 7 transition support programs
- supporting student attendance, engagement and mental health
- providing students with referrals to specialist services when required
- supporting physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and wellbeing of all students
- fostering an environment of inclusion and cooperation, respecting the diversity of cultures and traditions as well as individual capabilities and strengths
- enhance college promotion and prevention activities by contributing to whole school health and wellbeing initiatives, building staff capability to manage student health and wellbeing, and helping to embed mental health promotion and prevention programs and strategies within the college
- work as part of the Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) team, and other key college stakeholders, to provide direct support and evidence including identification of vulnerable students, completion of relevant documentation and development and implementation of interventions
- Attend Disability Inclusion Profile meetings, bringing a wellbeing focus to the process.
