- The Metabolic Diseases Unit (MDU) is a specialist unit at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, providing state-wide services to patients across Victoria and Tasmania with a range of suspected and confirmed inborn errors of metabolism. With growing patient numbers, this small team is highly committed to their patients, working closely together in a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes. The predominantly outpatient service is provided for all patients with genetic metabolic conditions, such as phenylketonuria, lysosomal storage diseases, glycogen storage diseases and mitochondrial disease.**Your New Role**:

- As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the MDU Clinical Nurse Consultant has an important role as case manager in the outpatient setting, assists in the complex work up of undiagnosed metabolic diseases patients, and will co-ordinate, negotiate, procure and manage the care of this patient population across the health care continuum.- The CNC will act as a resource person in this field for health care workers in Victoria and Tasmania, and will be strongly supported by management and the MDU team to develop/enhance superior clinical knowledge and expertise in the specialty area of inherited metabolic diseases.**About You**:

- Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the AHPRA Nursing And Midwifery Board with at least 5 years' nursing experience, ideally with some outpatient / case management experience
- You are passionate about learning, resourceful and adaptive to change
- Excellent clinical reasoning skills
