**About the department**:
The Intensive Care unit at Austin Health operates 4 pods totalling up to 29 beds including 3 cardiac surgery recovery beds. The unit admits general adult surgical and medical patients for both intensive and high dependency care. It is also the state referral centre for spinal cord inures, acute hepatic failure and liver transplantation.

**About the role**:
The registrar will provide care of patients in the intensive care unit and participate in Outreach services under the supervision of the intensive care consultant. The appointee is expected to meet the standards set by the department, and to participate in the Austin Health performance appraisal program.
