**The Role**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Waterways, Biodiversity and Environment this role contributes to strategic planning, influencing policy, undertaking assessments, investigations, management and recovery of environmental water within the Port Phillip and Western Port region. These responsibilities are undertaken in the context of climate change and other possible future scenarios, to improve environmental waterway health.
- As a member of the Waterways, Biodiversity and Environment team in Service Futures, this role contributes to the achievement of the Healthy Waterways Strategy, Central and Gippsland Region Sustainable Water Strategy (CGRSWS) and Greater Melbourne Urban Water System Strategy (GMUWSS) environmental water outcomes and to support efficient and effective water resources management. This will be achieved through:

- Providing environmental water advice and management of water for the environment to support achievement of obligations and improve the ecological health of waterways.
- Delivering services in the context of future challenges and consideration of whole of water cycle and resource management and integrated water management across Melbourne Water and beyond.
- Focussing on identifying new and innovative approaches to managing and recovering water for the environment.
- Working with key stakeholders to deliver optimal environmental flow improvements and outcomes.

**Your Skills and Experience**:

- Capability to consider broader, strategic issues, assess gaps, and take account of stakeholder and customer needs in identify solutions.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate environmental health and river and flow data and information to produce meaningful information for both technical and non-technical audiences (sometimes in conflict situations).
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships across the business, with customers and stakeholders.
- Criminal Records Check
- Medical Assessment
- Ability to swim at a competent level due to any work near, on or in water.

**Salary**: MW EA Level 7 starting at $105,602 plus superannuation
