Great opportunity for Analysts to join our Market Infrastructure team

- Salary between $118,925 - $139,100 (plus 15.4% superannuation) depending on experience
- Two x 12-month contracts, Sydney (other locations may be considered), Hybrid working (50:50)

The team
The Market Infrastructure team is responsible for authorising and supervising all market infrastructure operators in Australia. The providers include listing venues, trading venues, post-trade (clearing and settlement facilities) venues, trade repositories, credit rating agencies and benchmark administrators. It also leads the Supervisory Cyber and Operational Resilience Centre (SCORC) designed to support all of ASIC's supervisory business and designed as a ‘hub and spoke' model to support ASIC's supervisory business deliver on their strategies.
The Market Infrastructure team is looking for team members to join our Securities or Derivatives teams.
- The Derivatives team deals with the licensing and supervision of derivatives market infrastructures operating in Australia, including exchanges, trading platforms, trade repositories and benchmark administrators.
- The Securities team supervises and assesses the product listing and admission process, operational resilience and trading operations of licensed financial securities markets, including the oversight of new products and trading developments. We also supervise credit rating agencies.

The role
**As an Analyst, you will**:

- contribute to market infrastructure policy by identifying strategic technical and policy issues and develop possible approaches or solutions
- contribute to ASIC's relationship with market infrastructure providers
- assess the evolving nature and suitability of products admitted to public markets
- contribute to ASIC's work with international and domestic regulatory bodies and lead by example in building open, collaborative and long-term partnerships

About you
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics or law.
- Strong knowledge of financial products including exchange traded cash market equities and futures, and OTC derivatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
- An understanding of the Corporations Act and ASIC Market Integrity Rules as they relate to financial market operators and/ or market participants is highly desirable.
