**Why Your Role Matters**:
The Media & Events Officer - UNSW Sport supports the planning and implementation of key initiatives and events, develops content and communications for promotion and community outreach, and builds key internal and external relationships with stakeholders. You will provide advice as a recognised expert within the sport media and communications field and will contribute to raising the profile of UNSW Sport in alignment with the education and student experience strategy.

The Media and Events Officer - UNSW Sport plays a key role for UNSW Sport within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience (PVCESE) Portfolio, Wellbeing Pillar and will contribute to the delivery of the 2025 UNSW Sport Strategy and the UNSW Active Women Strategy.

**Who You Are**:

- Advanced communication skills, including demonstrated proficiency in content writing, video and photography editing, and publication processes, along with the ability to research and analyse material and data to summarise key issues for use in official reports, communications and promotions.
- Creative content development skills, and experience in designing promotional campaigns and developing and managing digital content for web and social channels, including demonstrated ability to tailor content and messaging to audiences & channels.
- Demonstrated experience in event co-ordination with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans and objectives including managing logistics, promotions, communications, documentation and reporting.
- Strong service orientation and “client” focus, together with high-level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with staff at all levels and internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience within a relevant field - media, communications and/or event management experience within the sports industry is desirable.
