**What you'll be doing**

Reporting to the Analytics Lead, this Data Analyst role is primarily responsible for the delivery of data analysis and reporting services for the Marketing Team. This involves aligning analytics solutions with business needs and includes stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, prioritization, dashboard design and development, conducting deep dive analyses and completing ad-hoc data requests, so that the business can make informed and evidence-based decisions.

**You Could Expect Your Typical Day To Include Some Of The Following Things**:

- Work closely with the relevant business stakeholders (both internal and external) to identify reporting and analysis needs to support decision making within the Marketing domain
- Intercept business ideas/questions/concerns, translate them into hypotheses, identify the required data points for hypothesis testing, retrieve required data from the database, conduct the analysis and circulate the findings and recommendations back to the business
- Ask probing questions to ensure the business problem and the analysis requirements are clearly defined
- Develop, update, and automate Tableau dashboards, whilst ensuring data quality, data integrity and data accuracy are upheld
- Act as a key partner to the Marketing team by assisting them to define KPIs for key business growth initiatives, monitoring them, and deriving direct, meaningful actions from insights.
- Undertake data preparation, cleansing, analysis design and visualisation and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and improve potential areas of report inefficiencies by optimising queries, designing data marts, and curating reports in our data catalogue.
- Be the custodian and owner of key Marketing metrics e.g. Return on Ad Spend
- Identify key areas of improvement and levers that can be pulled to help shift key business metrics
- Collaborate and work closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, BI Developers and Data Scientists to ensure data integrity, scalability, and advanced metrics design
- Convey clear requirements to the rest of the data and analytics team and work closely with them to design and develop any data products required for analytical work e.g. write queries to build data marts that would streamline reporting
- Act as a key engagement point for Marketing related data requests, including new data, existing data and derived data requests
- Work with business stakeholders within the Marketing domain to ensure requests are prioritised and projects and daily work meet deadlines.

**The skills you’ll have**
- Tertiary qualified in relevant discipline (Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- Previous experience in a similar role within Marketing. This includes having experience in scoping, developing and delivering Marketing related BI solutions and actionable insights
- Proven expertise supporting an E-commerce business and working with very large and complex datasets
- Understanding and experience with ETL and data structures and data modelling e.g. data warehousing and data marts
- Proven experience in using analytics to generate insights and make recommendations to improve and optimise business processes and solve business problems
- Proven experience with reporting on Marketing campaign effectiveness and optimization
- Highly proficient with SQL with the ability to write complex queries
- Advanced in BI visualisation tools such as Tableau
- Strong analytical mindset and skills
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and communication skills to translate analytical solution outcomes in the context of business impacts and benefits to a non-technical audience
- Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to proactively innovate with data to identify opportunities and drive recommendations
- Must be curious and business outcome focused with a problem-solving attitude
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Commercially minded and highly motivated
- Can work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise work as appropriate
- Statistical programming language like Python or R is a plus
- Experience analysing social and paid advertising platform data such as Google ads, Facebook and Instagram is an advantage
