Join our dedicated team at Wage Inspectorate Victoria in a rewarding and varied role as an Advisory Services and Licensing Officer working in the Advisory Services Team. This role is a crucial public-facing role within our organisation that also administers our Child Employment licensing function.
Advisory Services and Licensing Assessment Officers provide information and respond to enquiries and requests from the public (employers and employees) regarding the several legislations the Wage Inspectorate oversees. This includes Child Employment Act 2003, Owner Drivers and Forestry Contractors Act 2005, Long Service Leave Act 2018, Wage Theft Act 2020 and from January 2023 the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005.
Other key aspects of this position is the responsibility of the assessment and issuing child employment licenses to fit and proper employers, as well as evaluating notifications or requests for variation that a license holder makes in accordance with the Child Employment Act 2003.
The Advisory Services and Licensing Officer also assesses reports relating to Wage Inspectorate legislation and follows the support escalation process through to other internal teams. This position also has the opportunity for the Officer to support the broader operations of the team and the Wage Inspectorate.
