The Royal Australian Navy is a modern military organisation with over 20,000 sailors and officers and over 100 Vessels and Aircraft from submarines to helicopters, the Navy offers a arrange of exciting career opportunities.

Here in Darwin, the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct is a unique tri-services Defence base and the homeport and support establishment (HMAS Coonawarra) for the Navy’s Patrol Boats.

The Navy Familiarisation Program hosted by HMAS Coonawarra is a unique opportunity for Secondary School students. The program aims to provide participants with an overview of some of the roles and jobs available in the Navy, which they may not have considered. Students will participate in demonstrations and practical activities, whilst also engaging with personnel to ask questions and hear their career journey.

The Australian Defence Force Careers team will also give a presentation on the many recruitment avenues and be available to answer individual questions from students.

Participants will be provided with lunch each day.
