**About your new role**

We are looking for a Safety Advisor to join our Health & Safety Team based on-site on the Brisbane to undertake activities that enable The Star Brisbane to achieve its’ vision whilst reducing incidents and injuries and improving the health, productivity and wellbeing of team members. You will assist departments across our business in implementing and operationalising the Safety Management System (SMS). In addition, you will provide support to the Safety Manager in the implementation of relevant aspects of the Health and Safety (H&S) strategic plan. You will ensure that staff at all levels of the organisation have a clear understanding of the requirements relative to their role.

By developing close relationships with management and supervisors, you will proactively identify H&S risk issues and will develop and implement effective controls. You will enjoy the challenges of working with the H&S team to provide advice, direction and support to the business on health and safety matters. Always looking for ways to make improvements, the role will require you to be proactive, consultative, and driven to success.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- A minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is essential.
- Demonstrated ability in developing productive relationships and managing and driving change.
- A strong understanding of Work Health & Safety legislation and standards.
- The ability to develop and review SWMS/WHS Plans for complex tasks or projects. A proven track record of the implementation of safety management systems is advantageous.
