**Position Objective**
- To perform mechanical repairs and service to all plant equipment and facilities.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and plant facilities.
- Analyse and troubleshoot mechanically oriented problems whilst referring to drawings and technical manuals.
- Install, repair, maintain, test, modify, commission and/or fault find on complex machinery and equipment which utilise hydraulic and/or pneumatic principles. In the course of such work, is required to read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry which controls fluid power systems.
- Understand the lean methodology and be competent in using the associated tools e.g. 5 why, A3, 6S etc
- Exercise high precision trade skills using various materials and/or special techniques e.g. electric arc welding, MIG and TIG welding, use of lathes and milling machines.
- Install/fit new or relocated equipment.
- Assist in the investigation of upgrade or improvement to existing equipment.
- Assist in establishment and review of preventative maintenance tasks and frequency.
- Assist in providing data for diagrams and blueprints for existing, redesigned or new equipment.
- Monitor, and adjust where necessary, equipment to ensure it is functioning efficiently and effectively.
- Assist in evaluating equipment, and components thereof, with a view to sourcing original or alternative components and their suppliers. This process includes: liaising with suppliers to share technical data/specifications; the raising of purchase requisitions.
- Provide trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team.
- Assist in the provision of training in conjunction with supervisors and trainers.
- Work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
- Be familiar with the access and use of the MAINPAC software system for maintenance data update.
- Understand and implement quality assurance techniques e.g. principles of GMP, Measurement, Waste Elimination, TMP, 6S & Lean practices.
- Perform other duties as required
- Assist with investigating root cause equipment failures etc.

**Qualifications, Experience & Skills**
- Must have a current and relevant recognized Mechanical Trade Certificate.
- PC and Software Tools
- Written and Verbal Communication
- Working in a Team environment
