The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Administration Officer Supports (Emergency) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide efficient administrative support to the multidisciplinary team of the Emergency Department
- Ensure all patient registration, admission and discharge procedures are conducted accurately and within a timely manner
- Maintain and manage patient information by conducting patient interviews to verify information and private health insurance details
- Assist in revenue Collection processes, by receipting/collection of compensable monies received e.g. Emergency Initial Consultation visit fee for Medicare Ineligible patients
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- While not mandatory, knowledge of medical terminology, internal hospital information systems and/or experience in a busy clinical environment would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, permanent part time, temporary full time and temporary part time (multiple positions, hours negotiable, temporary contracts are up to 6 months with possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $74 722 - $83 097 per annum or $2864.10 - $3185.10 per fortnight or $37.68 - $41.90 per hour

Administrative Services provide a range of administrative support across all Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service facilities. Positions include ward clerk, medical typist, switchboard, reception, patient services, outpatient administrative services, front enquiry counter, emergency department administration, information resourcing and executive support services based at Southport and Robina.
