ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide onsite Laboratory site management for Intertek at a newly open Lead mine. The opportunity is present inclusive culture and work alongside the client to establish a technically strong and productive team to support analytical testing capabilities within the Intertek service scope. Ensure that staff are monitored and reviewed from a safety and productivity perspective. Roster 8 days on 6 days off - 12 hour days.

**Job Requirements**:
Key responsibilities are to assist the Laboratory Manager in the following:

- Management of resources available at the laboratory including preparation of staff rosters, setting priorities\objectives, review of consumables and chemicals to ensure optimum sample processing and maintaining effective cost control.
- Ensure analytical data reports are provided on time and review any delays to optimize laboratory operations.
- Ensure adequate QAQC is performed, and quality is maintained to satisfy QAQC guidelines within the service testing scope.
- Ensure performance reviews for employee are done and completed within stipulated time and provide guidance and counsel to staff for improving performance of employees.
- Personal management of consumables via monthly stocktake and order.
- Coordinates all administrative and personnel issues with the head office and HR Department.
- Provides the appropriate support, counselling and when necessary disciplinary measures to maintain the Intertek values and Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
- Maintain good client relations through monthly meetings and inform management of any issues.
- Ensures all activities within and undertaken by the laboratory meet with world class standards of Safety, Health, and Environment and with a great sense of duty of care.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Laboratory Operations and issues.
- Radiation safety officer preferable
- Classical Titration for Pb, Zn and Cu, ISE, Eltra.
- Ability to consistently meet KPIs\ objectives.
- Ability to understand QAQC requirements for different sample types trade/shipment samples to process plant and grade control.
- Ability to understand Intertek corporate systems, procedures and policies.
- Good teambuilding and coaching skills.
- Ability to examine possibilities for improving financial management and reporting procedures for laboratory and associated operations.
- Must be customer service oriented
- Provide leadership and mentoring to a small group of people.
- Analytical problem solving ability
- Must be productivity and safety oriented
- Ensure personal discipline is maintained.
