Working within a commercial kitchen facility, Catering Team Members play a key role in supporting our community by providing consistent, reliable and most importantly, nourishing meals in a safe, welcoming place. The role assists with preparing and serving food under the guidance and support of the Catering Team Leader. An ideal role for those who enjoy cooking in a team environment.

Key responsibilities

We are seeking volunteers that can assist us in our Café after our morning rush.

Set up and clean up: With a keen eye for neatness and hygiene, Team Members assist with initial set up, clearing of tables, pack up, wash up and waste disposal.

You may also be able to assist with meal preparation and service: With guidance and instruction from the Catering Team Leader, Catering Team Members prepare meals according to the planned menu and the number of meals required.

Qualifications and skills (desired/required)

Experience in food preparation, handling and service

Relevant food handling qualifications as required by local council authorities

Time Required & Commitment

Days are flexible from Monday to Saturday

Times: Morning (8-9:30 is when we need the most assistance)

Development opportunities with this role

This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in food handling, preparation and service. Additionally, there will be access to a range of training opportunities and insight to the work of a large not-for-profit religious organisation with expressions in many different areas of society.
- The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child related roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. _Additionally, certain volunteer roles may require a National Police Check._
