**12 month contract with extension options**

**Canberra (ACT) Location**

**Requirements**:
The AI/ML SME will be responsible for planning and leading the identification and assessment of the current program technology. They will be an expert in AI/ML with a PhD (or equivalent) in either field and have demonstrated experience in utilising their capabilities into operations and within Government context.

The AI/ML SME will:

- Advise on potential AI/ML algorithms and their guidelines for enhanced capability and their impacts, threats and opportunities to the delivery of the project.
- Ensure that design decisions, documents and materials in the project support the objectives of deploying automation using AI/ML to achieve Enhanced capability.
- Provide advice on the requirements for AI/ML to transition successfully into operations.
- Provide advice on the needs of sustaining an Operational capability using AI/ML, with ongoing and continuous improvements to maintain its state-of-the-art.
- Participate in Project forums that have people with a wide range of project skills, and be able to communicate AI/ML effectively.
