Are you ready to take on a key role in maintaining our community and council assets? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operator to join our Response team on a permanent, full-time basis within our Hastings team.

**About the role**

Based at our Whakatu depot, your new role will see you take on the responsibility for scheduled maintenance, inspections and reporting on building rainwater and gutter systems throughout the Hastings district. You will be responsible for:

- ** Scheduled Maintenance and Inspections**: Ensuring the upkeep and functionality of building rainwater and gutter systems across the Hastings district.
- ** Cleaning and Pest Control**: Performing both interior and exterior cleaning tasks, as well as managing pest control when necessary.
- ** Physical Tasks**: Engaging in hands-on work to maintain the integrity and safety of our community assets.

This is a varied, physical role upkeeping our local community and council assets. A head for heights, an eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously is a must in this key role. Comprehensive internal training will be provided, and you will be put through a nationally recognised external qualification relating to work at heights and operating elevated work platforms.

**About you**

To excel in this role, we are looking for:

- ** Comfort with Heights**: Essential for working on roofs and elevated platforms - even better if you have a current EWP certificate.
- ** Attention to Detail**: A keen eye for detail to identify and address maintenance issues.
- ** Physical Fitness**: A good level of fitness to handle the physical demands of the job.
- ** Communication Skills**: Strong verbal communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting.
- ** Self-Motivation**: The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- ** Health and Safety**: A desire to uphold the company's health and safety policies in order to keep yourself, your team and the public safe.
- ** Trade Experience**: Preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
- ** Driver’s License**: A current full driver’s license with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
