Deakin University has been providing outstanding undergraduate occupational therapy education since 2001 from the Geelong Waterfront campus. The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy pass stream and the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Honours stream have successfully been accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. The Lecturer will contribute to high quality teaching across the course, undertake research, and publish in high quality journals.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Leading unit teaching teams and working collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the course
- Providing clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes
- Supporting diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit material and practices
- Contributing to the moderation and maintenance of academic standards, and the development of course and unit curriculum
- Initiating, designing and conducting and may lead productive, high-quality research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs
- Engaging collaboratively to develop novel and high-quality research activities
- Building national reputation, based on growing, focused body of work recognised for quality, excellence and impact
- Supervising honours and/or HDR students with timely completions and productive, high quality outcomes
- Adopting and promoting a culture of research excellence, innovation and impact

**Key selection criteria for this role**:

- PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
- Experience in occupational therapy practice
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
- Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding
- Ability to make a contribution to community engagement for research and teaching
- Capacity to contribute to leadership of teaching, research and/or administration
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
- Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples
