**About the Role**:
The role of the HOSES is tasked with embracing 'Equity and Excellence' for every student, focusing on educational achievement, wellbeing and engagement, and culture and inclusion.The successful applicant will provide support to the Deputy Principal (Inclusion) in the case management of students in Years 7-9 that are identified through NCCD as having complex issues. Your expertise will also be integral in developing the capacity of staff to meet the educational needs of students with disability.As a member of a team of staff including a DP (Inclusion), nine SWD teachers and several teacher aides, you will be required to provide leadership, coaching and management to ensure legislation and policies are up held, including the human rights and disability discrimination acts.Additionally, you will support the school's strategic agenda in reading by leading pedagogical practices in literacy for Junior secondary, and overseeing the coordination of reading intervention programs.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
- Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
