**Job Title: Clinical Coder, Administrative Worker Grade 3 - Health Information Services**:

**About the Role**:
This is a Permanent Part Time position at 45.6 per fortnight (0.6 EFT) within Health Information Services.

You will be responsible for completing coding and indexing of hospital separations in an accurate and timely manner using the ICD-10-AM and ACHI classification systems and Australian Coding Standards, as well as quality improvement activities related to coding and patient data.

**What you’ll achieve**:

- Accurate and timely coding and indexing of hospital separations
- Effective management of workload to ensure individual coding Key Performance Indicators are met
- Effective collaboration and cooperation with other members of the team to meet monthly coding timelines
- Active participation in department quality improvement activities related to coding
- Adherence to ICD-10-AM, Australian Coding Standards and department processes and procedures

Classification for this position will range from AO31 - AO35 (base salary $72,800 to $80,709 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation)

**Your skills and experience**:

- Diploma of clinical coding qualification or equivalent
- Eligible for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia
- Several years’ experience in a health care setting
- Clinical coding experience preferred
- Understanding of Casemix and Activity Based Funding desirable
- Understanding of the healthcare system

Health Information Services (HIS) provides a range of services for The Royal Children's Hospital including scanning, clinical coding and Casemix education, updating and managing access to patient information, medical transcription, and data correction and submission.
