**An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Music Specialist to run our Junior School Music Program (P-6) at Gilson College, Taylors Hill, in 2024.**
This role will commence in Term 1, 2024 and is open to graduate teachers. Gilson College, Taylors Hill, has an excellent mentoring and support program for graduates.
The focus of the Music Specialist is on developing their student's appreciation for Music while ensuring that their programming reflects the requirements of the Australian Curriculum. They teach a range of students/classes and create and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes that reflect the wider Christian ethos of the school. The Music Specialist may be asked to support co-curricular Music programs, including concerts, performances, and chapel services. The Music Specialist also maintains the school classroom instrument collection.
**Requirements**:
The successful applicant will:
- Have a Bachelor of Education
- Hold current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Ideally have experience teaching Music in a primary setting. However, primary teachers with a background in studying Music are also encouraged to apply.
- Have a willingness to support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church
