**The Department for Child Protection is looking for a Youth Engagement Officer.**

As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will have the opportunity to create pathways of influence for children and young people aimed at improving their experience of living in Residential Care and outcomes for families and the greater community through the use of active consultation, the encouragement of participation and empowerment.

A Youth Engagement Officer will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver outcomes that empower children and young people to access opportunities that will enable them to positively interact with the services and systems required.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in working with vulnerable children and/or young people with complex issues and needs in a residential or related care setting. Your ability to communicate effectively together with the leadership skills required to resolve complex incidents while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of children and young people are also desirable traits for this role.

**Special Conditions**

**Essential Qualifications**:
**AHP -**A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

**PO** - Appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related field.
