Let’s talk about the role and responsibilities
- Participate in enterprise-level critical systems operational support
- Proactive health and performance monitoring including daily health checks
- Database Service performance reporting
- Database Scripting and Automation
- Perform capacity planning
- Drive continuous improvement and reduction in manual effort by automating deployments and configuration updates
- Root cause analysis and service improvement solutions
- Liaise with appropriate teams for development of corrective actions or viable workarounds to resolve major incidents
- Adhere to ITIL guidelines for Incident Problem and Change Management
- Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards methods and procedures
- Have existing Microsoft certifications

You'll be working within a varied complex role with many of Capgemini's valued customers working with an accomplished team in a collaborative atmosphere.

Let’s talk about your capability and experience
- Previous experience in working for an MSP or large government department
- In depth expertise of all SQL versions. (On-prem and Azure)
- Proven SQL Server Design and Installation experience
- Configuration and administration of SQL server components (SSIS SSAS SSRS)
- Experience around SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery capabilities including Always On Availability Groups and Log Shipping
- Experience working with Windows Server failover clusters
- Excellent skills with Performance tuning troubleshooting and optimization.
- Automation using scripting languages and/or DevOps approach.
- Performance and capacity reporting/Analysis using Power BI.
- DB Monitoring and Alerting using SCOM Splunk.
- Azure or AWS experience would be highly regarded
- A hunger for knowledge with the passion to learn about the latest innovations in the industry which you will enjoy sharing with the wider team
- Adaptability to changing environments and workloads
- Ability to use own initiative
