**About Us**

The DCS Portfolio Management and Assurance (PMA) team oversees the Department of Customer Service’s (DCS) portfolio, providing PMO, assurance, program and project management, and portfolio management services. This role is an exciting opportunity to provide support to the cluster wide portfolio. Our portfolio includes over 400 projects valued at over $2bn. Our mission is to become a trusted customer centric ICT service provider, enabling agencies to deliver personalised digital experiences to NSW and this vacancy will provide a pivotal role in achieving this.

We are seeking enthusiastic and highly skilled Portfolio Analysts to join our dynamic DCS Portfolio team. Our team focuses on alignment with strategy, prioritisation and planning, executive insights, portfolio governance, and financial management. As a Portfolio Analyst, you will perform a range of data analytics and data visualisation tasks to support the portfolio prioritisation, performance and benefits realisation activities.

**Your key responsibilities will include**
- ** **Maintain collaborative working relationships with executive stakeholders, through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management.
- Prepare and review high-quality business cases, reports, presentations and other forms of correspondence to ensure the provision of timely and professional portfolio communications.
- Provide sound advice and recommendations to customers and stakeholders, on a range of portfolio issues and priorities to inform evidence-based decision making and support the achievement of sustainable portfolio outcomes.
- Support the portfolio pipeline of projects from idea to project funding. Ensure the Portfolio pipeline aligns to the strategic outcomes. Continually review the pipeline process to identify ways to improve the process.
- Support the rollout of a prioritisation framework across the cluster to support DCS Executives in portfolio prioritisation and decision making to enable successful delivery of projects and programs
- Maintain a strong understanding of the portfolio health, including trends, risks, and constraints, and contribute to the development and review of business processes and practices, to identify opportunities for improved performance and customer service outcomes
- Undertake analysis of relevant data on portfolio health to meet reporting and governance requirements and enable improvements and enhancements to portfolio delivery.

**Key Skills and Experience to be successful**
- ** **Thrives in a complex environment, working with a diverse group of stakeholders, able to pivot from one priority to another quickly and able to collaborate with a team to create ideas, build reports and deliver high quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Experience and knowledge of project and program delivery methods, including the implementation of technology solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for strategic thinking
- Experience in dealing with a diverse range of complex matters and highly conceptual issues, to recommend practical solutions, often within limited timeframes.
- Strong communication skills, must be able to present and explain data insights to the team and stakeholders
- High level attention to detail, organisation, and prioritisation
- Advanced data reporting skills, able to analyse the data in Excel and other tools, find trends and make recommendations. Use this data analysis and findings to create advanced graphical PowerPoint presentations that are easy to interrupt. Experience in presenting data and presentation to senior stakeholders.
- Relevant qualification in project management related field (desirable).
- Prior knowledge of government processes, governance and whole of NSW government project approval and delivery frameworks will be highly regarded but not essential.
