**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Manager, Automation and Enabling Services to join Digital Business Solution, Administrative Division.

The Manager of Automation and Enabling Systems is a pivotal role within the Digital Enabling Services (DES) portfolio, which will see you at the forefront of driving innovation and optimizing the university's automation and enabling systems. Your input will be crucial in strategic decision-making, guiding the lifecycles of automation and enabling systems, including their procurement, optimization, and retirement. By establishing strong relationships with both business and technical stakeholders, you will foster trust and gather reliable information to distill into actionable business needs. This position will contribute to enhancing operational efficiency, streamlining processes, and ultimately advancing the university's mission of delivering exceptional digital services.

**About the area**

Digital Business Solutions (DBS) provides support for staff and students across a range of information and technology services. DBS uses technology to create value for our students and customers through the portfolios of Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Professional Services. DBS embraces digital transformation as being fundamental to our service in supporting QUT’s aspirations outlined in Blueprint 6.

**What you need to succeed**

1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualification together with extensive relevant experience in the development and management of IT services; or extensive development and management experience and proven management expertise within an information technology area.
2. Proven leadership ability with experience in maintaining a coherent team culture focused at achieving organisation goals.
4. Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to establish positive working relationships with management, inspire employees and influence internal clients and external organisations to deliver high quality business solution options for QUT, as well as anticipate and negotiate changes in client expectations and requirements.
5. Proven success in leading and contributing to projects (with a focus on process enhancement leveraging technology
solutions) that balance the requirements of performance, security and user functionality/friendliness in a diverse and
rapidly changing university environment.
6. High level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to consult and liaise with staff and stakeholders at relevant levels, and to produce high quality reports (including
current and future state process documentation, project plans etc).
