We have a great opportunity for an experienced mine surveyor at our Boddington site. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring all spatial activities are controlled or captured. Assisting with the development of Mine Survey SOP’s and training of graduate mine surveyors and survey technicians makes this a varied and interesting position.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring all spatial activities are controlled or captured. Assisting with the development of Mine Survey SOP’s and training of graduate mine surveyors and survey technicians makes this a varied and interesting position.

**Key responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Reporting - Assist in developing and preparing the monthly reports on material movement and all stockpiles quantified. Assist in the preparation of plans and drawings for various regulatory bodies (ie Mine plans, accident investigation plans, etc)
- Project Management - Participate in projects as assigned to them by the Superintendent Technical Services or Senior Mine Surveyor. Participate in creating Job Hazard Analyses’ and SOP’s to ensure all projects are carried out in a safe and effective manner.
- Administration Functions - Ensure all administration functions and tasks associated with the position are undertaken and completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Safety & Environment - Must ensure field crews/contractors fully observe prescribed mine safety requirements whilst ensuring responsibility for personal safety and health at work and the safety of those around them. Participate and contribute to safe practice and environmental and social responsibility awareness. Identification of potential hazards and action that is appropriately taken.
- Contractor Management - Ensure required documentation is obtained from contractors, appropriate inductions are completed along with performance monitoring, assessments and work performance are carried out. Managing the analytical contract for the site and the contracts for the support and development of site software programmes along with managing the contract for QA/QC.

**About You**

You will hold the appropriate Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Survey with a minimum of two years surface and/or underground mine survey experience, preferably within a large scale mining operation where large hydraulic or rope shovels are used. You will have a strong desire to expand your technical knowledge coupled with excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated effective communication skills. Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar survey role and have experience operating drones with RePL certification. Your experience in the use of Maptek laser scanner and I-Site Studio software is highly desirable. Your computer literacy and experience with a global mine planning package are essential to your success in this role.
