**Job Description**:
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise estimates and letters outlining the process of estimate preparation and development to clients.
- Provides deposition or expert testimony, as a fact or expert witness for product liability cases, civil or federal court cases, and, occasionally, criminal cases. Investigates and may testify in a deposition or courtroom setting, about the cause, extent or source of damages or professional liability.
- Establishes and maintains positive industry relationships with clients and prospective clients, brokers, agents, contractors, competitors, and industry-related professionals (e.g., accountants, attorneys).
- Functions as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; supports the goals of the department, division, and organization; participates in special assignments and activities as required or approved; demonstrates initiative in the interest of the client and the organization.
- Maintains established relationships with current clients and consultants.
- Understands the services the company can provide and becomes familiar with the various methods used to support client needs.
- Collaborates on Business development and marketing with others in the firm including other experts, sales and management as well as meets with known clients.
- As requested, assists in the development of White Papers, webinar content, internal/external articles, blog posts and promotional and educational seminars.
- Participates in catastrophes responses for hurricanes, tornados, floods, and earthquakes.
- Works with others as requested to contribute to talent development modules.
- Stays abreast of office and company policies, procedures, and practices; participates in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.
- Adheres to all applicable State Insurance Regulation requirements and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Performs all other duties as required.
Required Experience:
- 2 years Building/Construction experience is required.
- 5+ years of experience in Building Consultancy, insurance or related field.
- Expert witness experience.
**Required Skills**:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, adjusting or related field.
- Skills in analyzing, interpreting, synthesizing, prioritizing, and reporting pertinent information, discerning the essential from the non-essential, and grasping complexities of unusual or complicated cases.
- Exemplary time management and organizational skills, including attention to detail and accuracy to execute tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Sound written and oral communication skills, problem-solving, influencing, and critical thinking skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software.
- Ability to work in catastrophic environments, such as the aftermath of natural disasters, weather events, etc., for an extended period.
- Safety mindset with the ability to foresee project risks associated with investigations.
