Head Barista

**About the Position**

We are currently looking for a Head Barista. Someone who can help lead a small team through a busy, fast-paced service but who has the initiative to work effectively alone.

We need someone who can take complete ownership and responsibility over the barista position. As well as helping lead a service, you will be working closely with the café manager handling day-to-day duties, such as ordering and liaising with vendors, checking inventory and setting daily coffee recipes.

Applicants for this job must have a great sense of time management and good communication. A sense of urgency during service and a desire to provide a smooth and memorable experience for customers is a must.

We work through an average of 6-7 kg of coffee/day. Serving both hot and cold beverages to takeaway and dine-in customers. You need to be able to handle communicating clearly while under pressure to be successful in this position.

- Victoria Arduino Eagle One 3 Group coffee espresso machine
- Victoria Arduino Mythos One electric grinder
- Mahlkonig EK 43 grinder
- PuqPress Q2 Gen 5 automatic coffee tamper
- Macro Bru F60M Batch Brewer
- Acaia Pearl and Lunar coffee scale

Experience with these or similar equipment essential. The ability to free pour consistent and quality latte art is also expected.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Providing a high level of service to our customers
- Making espresso and filter coffees at a consistent high quality
- Setting daily coffee recipes and dialling in espresso
- Using and maintaining espresso machine and coffee making equipment
- Keeping a clean and sanitary work environment
- Daily ordering from vendor/suppliers
- Maintaining inventory stock levels

**Other Duties**:

- Making cold drinks and juices
- Light food handling
- Using POS systems, cash handling and taking customer orders
- Waiting tables and washing dishes

**Requirements**:

- At least TWO years’ experience as barista
- Must be able to reliably commute to Bella Vista for a 5:45 a.m. start
- Must be able to speak English fluently

Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 38 per week
