Our client is a leader in the Defence maritime space. This is an important role within the business that will see you maintain, update, and coordinate financial systems. The Cost Control Officer will provide financial management support, assist with budget preparation and financial performance monitoring and reporting in accordance with Defence objectives. Applicants who have experience providing financial admin support within a Defence environment are strongly encouraged to apply.

**Duties**:

- Provide financial input into procurement strategy deliberations and reports.
- Participate in the preparation of Annual Budgets and Additional Estimates.
- Assist in development of pricing models for inclusion in RFT, CCPs and Survey & Quote tasking.
- Maintain pricing models for implemented CCPs and S&Q Tasking.
- Assist in financial evaluation of tender/S&Q responses to determine compliance, accuracy, risk analysis and value for money.
- Preparation of formal reports and presentations to Stakeholders on the outcomes of financial evaluations.
- Development of Project Cost Models to support scenario analysis and approval processes.
- Evaluation of pricing aspects of Contract Change Proposals (CCPs).
- Cost investigation/validation of finance related Contract Deliverables

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Qualification in Finance or Commerce.
- Experience as a Project Accountant (or in a similar role with True-up experience) and preferably in a Defence environment.
- Excellent finance reporting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiatives, sound reasoning and judgement, listening and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.
- Excellent knowledge and practical use of the SAP financial system, including running reports and extracting data to MS Excel using pivots and look-ups.
- Conversant with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Australian International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS).
- Advanced user of MS Excel.
- Australian Defence Security Clearance will be highly regarded
