Are you an experienced drone operator with a background in ecology or a related discipline? We are looking for a skilled, **Brisbane-based **full-time **Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (**RPAS**)** **pilot** to support our Chief Remote Pilot (CRP) in developing and implementing ecological surveys using drones. We are passionate about innovation and believe drone technology provides the opportunity for novel, more efficient and safer approaches for the collection of ecological data. We have made a substantial investment in drone hardware, software and training for our ecologists, but also recognise the necessity to have a dedicated team of specialists to ensure we have the capacity to deliver projects as the demand for this service continues to grow.

**About the Role**:
**The role will involve operating drones using a variety of airframes, sensors and software to collect ecological survey data on project sites across SEQ and further afield, as required by our project needs. You will use your knowledge of software to process data into a meaningful format. You will be required to contribute content to reports, proposals, processes, procedures and marketing material. You will have strong organisational and communication skills, which will allow you to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including our internal team of ecologists and support staff, and external stakeholders, such as clients, subcontractors and suppliers. You will support the CRP in working with our ecologists and geospatial specialists to develop drone capabilities which value add and improve efficiencies for the collection of ecological survey data.**:
**About You**:
**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Experience working as a RPAS pilot in a commercial setting.
- Experience and/or qualifications in field ecology, wildlife biology or a related discipline.
- An interest in aerial remote sensing for ecological monitoring.
- A commitment to aviation safety and holding either a remote pilot licence (RePL) or a Private Pilots Licence (PPL).
- A sound knowledge of drone and airspace related legislation and guidelines.
- Familiarity with drone and/or aircraft - flight planning, post processing and or GIS software.
- Strong communication, organisational and writing skills.
- A full manual driver’s licence, your own means of transport and experience operating a 4WD.
- Willing and capable to work flexible hours and away from home, as required.
- A strong focus on safety.
- A positive and solution-based mindset.

**Overall, the following skills and attributes would be highly regarded**:

- Endorsed to operate rotary wing drones up to 25kg MTOW and qualified to operate Beyond Visible Line of Sight (BVLOS).
- Experience with night flight (N-VFR) operations.
- Advanced flight planning skills.
- First aid training.
- 4WD training.
