**Job description**:
DFP Recruitment are currently supporting a medium sized Federal government agency in sourcing **APS5 Indigenous Service Delivery Stream Contact Officers** contractors for a national program.

The position is located in Greenway ACT. This contract offers an annual salary until 2 May 2024 with the possibility of a 12-month extension, which includes paid leave and 15.4% superannuation.

The Redress Group is responsible for the administration the National Redress Scheme (the Scheme) for people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse. The Scheme is a high priority for the Government and the Department, with the ongoing commitment to continually improve outcomes for survivors. The Scheme interacts with survivors to provide an outcome that can make a real difference in people’s lives. The Department is committed to the success of the Scheme and developing high performing staff who provide empathic, survivor focused, trauma informed support.

**Position Description**
***
The Indigenous Service Delivery Stream (ISDS) provides culturally appropriate case management support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors aged 55 years and older, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors who request support through the ISDS team.

**Key Duties**

- Communicate with the applicant using trauma-informed principles
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

**Key Skills**
- Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and
- communities, including communicating in a culturally competent manner, and understanding of contemporary and historical issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Demonstrates empathy and understanding, communicates effectively and takes a client centred approach
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with applicants using trauma informed principles
- Ability to interpret complex information and identify key aspects to support validation, assessment and recommendation processes
- Self-awareness and ability to self-manage in a complex, changing environment whilst in a diverse team with a high workload in a high-risk environment
- Demonstrated ability to self-regulate emotions, adapt to changing priorities, and work schedules
