**About the role**

Reporting to the Finance Manager, our **Purchasing Officer** in this newly created position will play a key role in defining, developing, maintaining and continuously improving the procurement function.
- Prepare and develop procurement plan to ensure that the purchasing within RSPCA Qld is managed effectively and efficiently and is robust
- Manage the Purchasing processes of the organisation
- Liaise with managers of the organisation
- Educate, train and support new and existing staff on systems and process and purchasing best practice
- Develop and update processes and procedures as required
- Manage the Purchase Order system of the organisation
- Supplier relationship management including establishment of contracts and partnership building as required
- Contract management of all supplier & contractor agreements.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Ability to successfully utilise procurement tactics (i.e., negotiation, inquiry, etc.) and deliver win-win agreements
- Experience of leading change and be able to demonstrate sound change management capability
- Demonstrated IT skills and be able to work with the MS Office Suite
- Capable of building and maintaining relationships internally and externally, at all levels
- Proven influencing skills to positively impact complex negotiations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven technical knowledge for the procurement goods and services and demonstrate the ability to evaluate legal and commercial risks of proposed contracts and terms
- Ensure that processes are in place to source from suppliers in a sustainable manner and following ethical standards
- Have demonstrated analytical strengths and problem-solving skills
- Entrepreneurial and seen as a role model to drive change and improvement, indeed must have a strong commitment to working with people to lead and deliver change

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week. Remuneration is commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
