**The opportunity**:
At VCGS, we are seeking a Customer Care Operator to join our Customer Care Group. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient functioning of our laboratories by answering doctor and clinic queries, data entry of patient episodes, distributing laboratory reports, skimming scanned medical request forms for follow up, and troubleshooting.
As a Customer Care Operator, you will be responsible for answering and logging phone enquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner. You will also be required to perform other general call centre duties as necessary. We value responsibility and initiative, and as such, we strive to give as much responsibility as possible to our staff for dealing with these duties.
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work well in a team-based environment and have a willingness to learn all aspects of laboratory support. You should also be able to work with mínimal supervision under busy conditions.
We are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to work at any time during our operating hours as required.

**Your responsibilities include**:
Answering the phone, effectively and efficiently and in a courteous and helpful manner
Dealing with issues directly or seek out relevant laboratory staff to assist
Data entry of patient episodes
Developing a thorough understanding of the differences in all the Labs and their “release of patient information” (reporting) rules
Dealing with report requests from doctors, clinics and at times patients
**About You**:
Experience in a Customer service role
A conscientious and responsible approach to laboratory support work
Critical eye for detail
Demonstrated ability to assist and support change
Ability to work to a high standard of speed and accuracy as is required in a diagnostic laboratory
