The Quantity Surveyor will promote and deliver world class forensic consulting services, with emphasis on Quantity Surveying. This role provides cost estimating services for failures, damages, or defects within the within the Quantity Surveyors technical expertise at various industrial, residential, and commercial sites, which may lead to legal activity, including both civil and criminal; potentially assisting a court or other parties to determine the related costs. The Quantity Surveyor analyzes both material and labor costs, building repair, determines the ability to repair, and delay costs associated with the repair works, along with providing Value at Risk and Indemnity assessments as required by the clients.

Assignments may also include the analysis of building property damage repair v’s replacement costs, the management of Cost-Plus repairs and catastrophic claims.

**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise estimates and letters outlining the process of estimate preparation and development to clients.
- Provides expert witness services including testimony as a fact or expert witness for product liability cases, a civil or federal court cases, and, occasionally, criminal cases. Investigates and may testify in a courtroom setting, about the costs associated with the damages or professional liability.
- Establishes and maintains positive industry relationships with clients and prospective clients, brokers, agents, contractors, competitors, and industry-related professionals (e.g., accountants, attorneys) to gather business intelligence; share relevant findings and recommendations within the company. Begins to develop a personal brand consistent with the overall company brand.
- Conducts business development and marketing activities with others in the firm including other experts, sales, and management as well as meetings alone with clients as relationships develop.
- As requested, assists in the development and presentation of White Papers, webinar content, internal/external articles, blog posts and promotional and educational seminars.
- Participates in the catastrophe’s response such as hurricanes, tornados, floods, and earthquakes.
- Understands the services the group can provide and become familiar with the various methods used to support client needs. Adapt our services to meet those needs in terms of scope of work, budget, and timing.
- Assists with the collection of outstanding invoices as necessary or instructed.

**Required Experience**:

- 5 to 10+ years’ experience is required in the construction, insurance or related field.

**Required Skills/Attributes**:

- Skills in analyzing, interpreting, synthesizing, prioritizing, and reporting pertinent information, discerning the essential from the non-essential, and grasping complexities of unusual or complicated cases.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Exemplary time management and organizational skills, including attention to detail and accuracy, to execute tasks and meet deadlines.
- Committed to being an effective and collaborative team member
- Sound written and oral communication skills, problem-solving, influencing, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in catastrophic environments such as the aftermath of natural disasters, weather events, etc., for at times, an extended period.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software.
