**The Role**
The Memorial requires a Payroll Officer preferably with previous APS experience for an ongoing vacancy.
As a member of the Human Resources Section the Payroll Officer provides timely and accurate advice and support across a broad range of payroll activities related to staff entitlements, including salaries, leave, and superannuation. Experience in use of the Aurion payroll system is desirable.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Under general direction perform a range of activities related to the pay team’s work including:

- Calculate and process payroll transactions including commencements, cessations, leave and superannuation for Memorial staff and ensure that HR records are accurately maintained.
- A good understanding of relevant legislation and policies or the capacity to quickly learn such knowledge including but not limited to the Memorial’s Teamwork Agreement, supporting policies and procedures.
- The ability to manage and organise your own work in an environment with competing priorities.
- Completing procedural and administrative payroll tasks and activities against established checklists and processes, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Prepare correspondence and reports as required.
- Undertake less complex payroll projects.
- Assist other areas within the Human Resources Section with administration activities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external clients.
