**The Role**

Join a team with a big impact. The COMSEC Policy Team has the task of maintaining and updating a growing box set of 80 plus Australian Communications Security Instructions (go ACSI). The policy we manage covers systems used in the F35 Joint Strike Fighter, MQ-4 drones through to in-line network encryptors.

In order to do this we need innovative people who like a challenge, can build productive working relationships and solve complex problems. The role in the COMSEC Policy team will provide you with a broad knowledge of communications systems, the opportunity to provide your creative input and ideas into national COMSEC policy with the ultimate outcome of “Protecting Our Own”.

**About our Team**
Key Management and Operations (KMO), Trust and Assurance Branch, is looking for enthusiastic Policy Officers to assist in the development of technical Instructions, known as Australian Communication Security Instructions (ACSIs), to assist the ADF and Government in securing their classified communications devices and networks.

As a COMSEC Policy Officer, you will work alongside a highly committed workforce, with both technical and policy writing experience, to develop, review, update and enhance ACSIs to support COMSEC operations and the introduction of new cryptographic equipment and associated networks into operation. You will also be able to assist in the review of COMSEC incidents and provide critical advice to ensure the security of Australia’s classified environments.

Your role will have you:

- Gain technical policy writing experience linked to secure communications technologies
- Develop, review, update and enhance essential policy applied to COMSEC
- Liaise with stakeholders and work across ADF and Government to support the implementation of COMSEC policy with both strategic and tactical environments
- Collaborate to problem solving and leverage this to achieve outcomes
- Grow an understanding of cryptography and IT security
- Be flexible to contribute to the evolution of operational approaches whilst ensuring a strong security culture.
