**ABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTION**

The Human Resource (HR) Branch manages and consults on HR policies, provides advice and services related to employee conduct, payroll services and remuneration, work health and safety, workers compensation, recruitment and mobility, workforce planning and capability development, and performance management. The Branch also contributes to strategies to enhance organisational culture, diversity and leadership.

The HR Strategies section is one of three teams in the Branch. There are three teams within the section:

- Culture and Diversity
- Capability Development
- Workforce Planning and Reporting

**ABOUT THE**
**OPPORTUNITY**

We are seeking a talented, energetic individual to join the HR Strategies Section as the Assistant Director, Culture and Diversity. The role will report to the Director - HR Strategies and work closely with a range of stakeholders within the HR Branch, the Department of Finance, other APS agencies and external organisations.

You will have a passion for driving and influencing change to enhance organisational culture, employee engagement and an inclusive workplace environment where our employees bring their ‘whole self to work’. You will be a strong collaborator and take a strategic, creative and innovative approach to your work.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for:

- Managing a small team responsible for progressing the Department’s diversity and inclusion work plan.
- Delivering actions in the department’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), Gender Equality Action Plan and other associated activities.
- Working in partnership with the Indigenous Liaison Officer to coordinate the development and implementation of future RAPs.
- Briefing the department’s executive, both written and verbal, on a range of issues and topics relating to culture and diversity within the department.
- Overseeing secretariat support to key governance committees including the department’s RAP Working Group and Finance Cultural Network Leadership Group (CNLG) Committee.
- Collaborating, consulting and supporting Finance Diversity Networks to increase our workplace culture through awareness and development.

You will have a strong cultural awareness and deep appreciation for diverse perspectives, lived experiences and the issues impacting diverse cohorts. Your extensive experience working in a stakeholder engagement role interacting with a diverse range of clients is highly desirable.

The role is full time and flexible working arrangements can be considered.
