**THE ROLE**

As a Solicitor in the Corporate team, you will be required to provide timely legal advice and practical legal advice. You will also prepare contracts and advice which must be clear, accurate and appropriate to meeting the client's needs. You will also be required to assist in monitoring and reporting on the performance and quality of advice of contracted legal firms in meeting the needs of the department's clients.

The Corporate team is responsible for providing practical, outcomes-focused legal advice and support across a broad range of areas such as contract law and tendering, information technology and intellectual property law, employment law (including OHS), general commercial law, defamation, and litigation (including prosecutions) that arise from these areas of practice.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Provide well-reasoned legal advice, briefings and correspondence.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to deliver client focused legal services.
- Appear or instruct in litigation involving the department in a wide range of courts and tribunals.
