**About Alta-1 College QLD
Alta-1 College QLD is a multi-sited, independent, Special Assistance School located in South-East Queensland. Presently the College caters

for approximately 75 young people aged 15-19 over two locations in Caboolture. The College is expanding and about to offer a Middle

School option for young people aged 12-15. The College has an outstanding staff team of full and part-time staff and is growing.

**The Opportunity**
This is a unique opportunity for a well-qualified and passionate Christian teacher with a heart for at-risk and educationally disengaged

young people. The successful applicant will work closely with a small group of staff at our Middle School Program, to provide recovery

education for a group of students. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a highly engaging learning program, to

students, within the Alta-1 System and established curriculum framework. The position will work in collaboration with additional education

and student services staff to oversee student learning and well-being. This position will report directly to the Assistant Principal.

**Responsibilities**
Including but not limited to:

- Demonstrate a heart to see at-risk young people flourish
- Create an environment that educationally disengaged young people will love to attend
- Promote and inspire learning among a group of educationally disengaged young people
- Employ a variety of effective teaching strategies.
- Work collaboratively to ensure the achievement of excellent academic and socio-emotional outcomes for students
- Support a culture in which students experience positive relationships and safety
- Care for the student cohort in a way that reflects the college values
- Differentiate the teaching of the curriculum to ensure that the needs of all individuals are met
- Understand and implement the college education approaches.
- Be sensitive to students experiencing academic, personal, social or challenges.
- Work positively and collaboratively under the leadership of the Assistant Principal, and as part of a highly collegial team.

**About you**

Essential requirements to be considered for the role
- A committed Christian
- Passionate about helping disadvantaged young people to improve their lives
- To be registered (or to be eligible to be registered) with the Queensland College of Teachers. Include details together with your

qualifications.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence.
- Ability to operate in healthy ways within team.
- Willingness to embody the Alta-1 College QLD identity, values, behaviours and culture.

4. Familiarity and experience with ACARA content descriptors and achievement standards.
5. A respected team player, demonstrating leadership qualities in an educational context.

**Desirable
1. Familiarity with special assistance schooling
2. Familiarity with the Alta-1 approach to education
