**The Role**

Fieldwork with our Environmental Monitoring team ranges throughout Victoria and beyond, encompassing working above the snow line, 4WD’ing in isolated areas, kayaking on rivers, hiking, working from boats, and operating drones.

In this role we also provide extensive formal and on-the-job training:

- Sponsored certification and membership of the Australian Hydrographic Association and support in completing relevant Diploma qualifications
- Advanced Life Support First Aid course
- 4WD driver training
- On-the-job exposure to our systems, specialised equipment and technical skills development
- One-on-one mentoring

**The Day to Day**
- Preparing equipment and resources for field calibration and maintenance runs.
- Visitation and maintenance of remote environmental monitoring facilities
- Assisting in the upgrade of old, and installation of new stations
- Collecting and verifying data in the field using various software programs and scientific instruments
- Use of hand tools - work can include manual excavation
- Record-keeping including field notes, photographs, and maps.
- Contributing to Project work as required.

**The Essentials**
- Environmental science or trades quals and/or experience
- A proactive mindset, able to work both independently and co-operatively
- Physically fit with an affinity for working outdoors; competent swimmer
- Proficient in the use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools
- Electronics / mechanical aptitude
- Computer literacy (incl. MS Office)
- Manual drivers licence
- Able to work flexible hours and travel.
- Understanding of health and safety principles and a complete commitment to working safely.
