Parliamentary Reporting Division (PRD) is one of the Joint Services of the Parliament of South Australia. Our staff includes reporters, editors and publishers. We provide a customer focused service to Members of Parliament, their staff and the public.

A Hansard Supervisor provides high-level expertise to support the efficient production of consistently high-quality official records of debates (Hansard) and other transcription products. The Supervisor is responsible for establishing and monitoring standards and methods to achieve high levels of performance of staff and client satisfaction, including training and developing new staff and monitoring and improving divisional work practices.

A Hansard Supervisor is expected to demonstrate:

- A high level of written language skills, including a wide vocabulary, comprehensive understanding and knowledge of all facets of grammar and syntax, and the ability to proofread and edit to a high professional standard.
- high-level concentration, attention to detail and accuracy in hearing and transcribing the spoken word.
- a high-level understanding of parliamentary procedures and processes.
- advanced comprehension, analytical skills, and ability to provide detailed and accurate reports.
