**About the role**

This role is part of a specialist team of security technicians that maintains a wide range of security systems installed in schools throughout New South Wales. This role maintains and repairs a variety of alarm, video surveillance, access control and other security systems that are installed in schools and provides end-users with instruction and advice in regard to the use of those systems.

**Skills and Experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
- Driver licence - Class C
- Required to travel to various school locations
- Willingness and ability to work in accordance with an after-hours on-call roster when required
- Possession of the competence and experience required by a Class 2C Security Licence. (NB. Security technicians employed by the School Security Unit are not required to hold a security licence due to an exemption provided by the Security Industry Regulation 2016.)
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
