**The Opportunity**

As a Research Fellow, you will contribute to the research project on Preparedness for Exogenous Shocks and Violence Against Women (VAW), researching the impact of climate-induced disaster shocks on types of VAW in the Indo-Pacific region. You will work as part of a team and in partnership with CEVAW Partner Investigators and Organisations, and your key duties will include:

- Co-designing a qualitative analytical framework based on the mapping of cases in the region and leading research design discussions with regional partners
- In-depth case studies involving fieldwork observations of the relationship between protective factors to prevent violence against women during shocks, with a focus on climate-induced extreme environmental events
- Leading the fieldwork, data collection, and data management across multiple sites in the Indo-Pacific region
- Training and teaching for CDES at the Monash Business School

**About YOU**

To be successful in this role, you will bring substantial expertise as a gender advisor in humanitarian and international development in the Indo-Pacific region. Your track record includes high-quality research publications on gender inequality and sexual/gender-based violence. Proficient in interdisciplinary and Indigenous-centered research methodologies, you excel in collaborative interdisciplinary teams and have a proven ability to work independently, consistently meeting project deadlines.

Your commitment to securing external funding underscores your proactive approach. You possess strong mentoring and leadership skills, supporting both research staff and higher degree research students effectively. Your proficiency in statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, and articulate communication sets you apart. Your collegial demeanour ensures a positive workplace dynamic, enhancing collaborative efforts among colleagues.
