**About the role**

National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has a unique opportunity for a Field Supervisor EBMP to supervise a field team responsible for implementing the Enhanced Bushfire Management Program (EBMP). The EBMP field team is primarily involved in fuel reduction activities by both mechanical means and prescribed fire and, during periods of high bushfire activity, may be required to participate in bushfire suppression or other bushfire response functions.

**About you**

As a supervisor, you’ll be experienced in managing and leading a dynamic team and managing multiple projects at once. Your organisational skills and adaptability will be key to your success, coupled with your communication skills and ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders. You will work with various teams across the Hunter Central Coast Branch to ensure the delivery of programs and priority projects. As such your collaborative approach and motivation to achieve outcomes will be an asset in this role.

**Essential requirements**
- Current Drivers / MR licence and demonstrated ability to operating 4wd vehicles and heavy plant up to 4.5 tonnes/15 tonne GVM, and ability to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
- Ability to carry out frontline firefighting duties and incident management roles, including ability to obtain and maintain certification as a crew leader or higher within the probationary period (up to 12 months),
- Certification and experience in chainsaw operations to at least cross-cut and basic tree-felling level, ability to operate two-way radio, and a willingness to fly in light aircraft.
- Applicants must meet the requirements of a firefighting medical which is inclusive of a clearance to undertake frontline firefighting roles. The applicant must pass the task-based fitness assessment to a moderate level within the probationary period (up to 12 months) and annually thereafter._
