We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join our community centres and undertake the implementation of programs under the TEI Targeted Support stream, which includes; Intake and Assessment; Casework Support, Counselling; external referrals and the facilitation of evidence based programs (this is optional based on your experience). This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic professional to make a real difference at the grass roots level.

**Note**: This position is not suitable for new graduates.

**THE ROLE**

FAMILY SUPPORT CASEWORKER/COUNSELLOR TARGETED EARLY INTERVENTION (TEI) PROGRAM Salary and Conditions - Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHCADS) Level 4/5. We have a joint recruitment campaign to fill the same role at both centres.

The successful applicant will be working for the Greenacre Area Community Centre 21hrs per week (days negotiable)and for the Western Sydney Community Centre 14hrs per week (days negotiable). Salary and employment conditions are the responsibility of each employer.

**The role of the Family Support Caseworker/Counsellor is to**:
Work within the TEI program guidelines to provide casework support and counselling interventions that support children, families and young people, who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing vulnerability.

Collaborate with internal and external services to engage with families who may need extra support as well as networking with local schools and other key stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways.

The TEI target groups include: children 0-5, children 6-18, younger parents, single parents and CALD communities. We offer a supportive team environment, clinical supervision, ongoing professional development opportunities and the opportunity to further develop your skills in working within the TEI framework.

The position is funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).

**Specific Duties**
**SELECTION CRITERIA**:
**ESSENTIAL**
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work/Psychology/ or Counselling and relevant experience
- Membership or eligibility to join a governing body such as PACFA, ACA, AHPRA, AASW
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in counselling as well as casework to families/ carers with children from 0-18 years of age
- Experience in the delivery of services to culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD) and working with vulnerable and disadvantaged clients
- Sound understanding of Trauma Informed Care and Client Centred Practice
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, including case notes, report writing and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in a community language (e.g. Arabic, Afghani, Chinese) (desirable)
- Competency with a Windows environment
- A commitment to social justice principles
- Understanding of WH&S
- Australian Drivers Licence
- Current and verified National Police Check
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Full Covid-19 Vaccination DESIRABLE
- Community Services sector experience
- Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
