Job Title: Dog Daycare Attendant

Position Overview: As a Dog Daycare Attendant, your primary duty is to ensure the well-being, safety, and joy of the dogs under our care. You will oversee their activities, maintain cleanliness, and contribute to the smooth functioning of our daycare facility. This position requires keen observation, a strong work ethic, and a genuine affection for dogs.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Safety:

- Monitor dogs during playtime to prevent any aggressive or unsafe behavior.
- Identify signs of distress, illness, or injury and promptly inform the supervisor.
- Maintain a controlled environment by managing interactions between dogs.
- Manage excessive barking, prioritizing the safety of the team's hearing.

2. Cleaning and Maintenance:

- Promptly clean up after dogs, including waste removal and sanitization.
- Ensure all dogs have access to fresh water by regularly checking and refilling water buckets.
- Keep mop buckets clean and ready for use in case of spills.
- Assist with weekly cleaning tasks as assigned.

3. Customer Service:

- Welcome and assist customers during drop-off and pick-up, fostering a friendly atmosphere.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns, providing feedback on their dogs' activities.
- Strive to exceed customer expectations.

4. Teamwork and Communication:

- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient operations.
- Accept feedback graciously and strive for continuous improvement.
- Communicate openly and effectively with team members, coordinating tasks as needed.
- Provide support and assistance to colleagues.

5. Conflict Resolution:

- Handle conflicts professionally and respectfully, aiming for resolution.
- Report concerns or conflicts to the supervisor for effective management.

6. Active Engagement:

- Maintain an active presence in dog play areas, interacting with them constantly.
- Engage dogs in play and provide appropriate toys and activities.
- Aim for 10,000 steps per shift through continuous walking with the dogs.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Preferably have prior professional experience working with dogs.
- Possess strong observational skills to detect signs of stress, illness, or aggression.
- Capable of handling dogs of diverse sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of the job, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
- Proficient in conflict resolution.
- Basic understanding of dog behavior and body language.
- Passion for providing dogs with a safe and enjoyable environment.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Braeside, VIC 3195: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- dog handling: 1 year (preferred)
