Principal Stratigrapher

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Principal Stratigrapher to join their exploration team based in Perth.
This role will focus on conducting detailed stratigraphic interpretation of shelf and basin facies within the Browse Basin, aiming to provide valuable insights into the structural and stratigraphic history of the Browse Basin Margin.
Additionally, the Consultant Principal Stratigrapher will be responsible for mentoring geoscience staff in the Perth Office, enhancing the overall technical expertise of the team.
**About this role**
- Geological stratigraphic interpretation and evaluation, with a focus on the facies distributions level interpretation.
- Compile presentations and contribute to discussions with the Government and Joint Ventures.
- Integration of multiple seismic data sets (variable offsets, processing flows and vintages)
- Understanding of the geological implications of interpreted stratigraphy horizons.
- Presenting interpretation to Peer groups in Perth and Tokyo
- Provide advice and assistance on to the Manager Geoscience and/or Exploration Manager on regional strategy, permit strategy and permit management matters.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the structure and systems within, and the ethos of, the Exploration team.
- Provide mentoring of junior geophysicists and other staff.
- Manage the stratigraphic portion of the Regional Browse Basin study.
- Work collaboratively with team members, fostering an open, fair and harmonious workplace.
- Provide advice on interpretation styles and requirements both to the ESE and Ichthys Teams
- Encourage and influence geoscientist to elevate the technical rigor
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- Ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
- Support the effective implementation of the office safety management system including participation in emergency drills and procedures as required

- Department: Exploration & Subsurface Evaluation
- Reports to: GM Exploration & Subsurface Evaluation
**About you**
- Bachelor of Science (Geophysics) or similar related geoscience degree
- Extensive experiece in the petroleum exploration industry
- Ability to understand and integrate data from a variety of geoscience disciplines. Australian working rights
