**Our Lady of Mount Carmel** is a co-educational systemic primary school with a population of approximately 400 students located in Wentworthville. Our Lady of Mount Carmel was founded in 1922 and has a unique culture guided by the dual charisms of the Sisters of Mercy and the Carmelite Priests. **About the Opportunity**:
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is seeking an innovative **Physical Education Teacher** who wants to make a difference in the life of the children they teach. The Physical Education Teacher provides release from face to face teaching for class teachers. The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher capable of designing and delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.
- Have a sound knowledge of, and commitment to, the Mission of the Catholic school and possess relevant Religious Education qualifications.
- Have a high standard of competency and proficiency as a teacher and be familiar with best practice, especially in designing developmentally appropriate Physical Education Programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of how to use targeted feedback and data to inform teaching and learning in order to create differentiated teaching programs that cater to students with a range of learning and physical needs.
- Communicate and work collaboratively in teams to plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning, including but not limited to individual student personalised plans.
- Effective use information technology in order to enhance feedback and assessment of student learning.
- Plan and execute school sporting events such as Cross Country, Athletics and Swimming Carnivals and Programs.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and active participation through coordinating gala days and extra curricular activities.
- Be committed to delivering a child-centred approach to education, where the students are actively engaged in the learning.
- Be committed to ongoing professional learning as a member of a professional learning community.
- Be willing to contribute to the broader aspects of school life.
