Purpose of Role:
We are looking for a site-based Press Operator to join our team at Weir Minerals Artarmon on a Casual position.

As a Press Operator you will be responsible for the operations of Elastomer press equipment in line with production requirements and WMA Standard Operation Procedures.

We currently are looking to fill the below shift:
Morning shift 6am -6pm

Key Responsibilities:
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Efficiently work allocated presses as per schedule
- Communicate with Team Leader if there are any issues affecting product quality or press efficiency
- Assist throughout Elastomer functions as and where required - this includes, but is not limited to, trimming products, painting reos, mould preparation etc.
- Complete all start-up and end of shifts checks, press log sheets and other documentation as required
- Fill out Defect investigation sheets as required and assist with PPRs
- Provide on the job training as required
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Actively participate in toolbox talks
- Carry out risk assessments for tasks as required.

Job Knowledge:

- Previous experience in a similar role with the usage of presses, guillotines, clicker pressers, extruders and overhead cranes.
- Ability to work in loud environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts and exposure to airborne particles or chemicals. Experience with heavy machinery, fault finding, repairs of equipment.
