**The role**

The Early Childhood Assistant works closely with and under the supervision of qualified Lead teachers and the Director of The Outside School Hours.

The incumbent is expected to interact with children and parents, assist in the implementation of the Outside School hours program. In addition, the Early Childhood Assistant will share responsibility for the Before School Care and Holiday Programs and contribute to the wellbeing of students and the effective operation of this area. The Early Childhood Assistant is expected to work as a collaborative member of the Outside School hours team, in order to provide an educational program appropriate to the interests and developmental needs of the children. The position assists in providing an amiable, flexible, creative, stimulating and safe environment for the children.

This part time (32 hrs) ongoing position will require you to work **Monday to Thursday 7:30am
- 2:30pm and Friday 7:30am-2pm.**

- Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) or a higher
- Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role.
- A strong alignment with the values of the Reggio Emilia Educational Approach
- Highly motivated, committed to work collaboratively with others, demonstrating the school values of Dignity, Respect, Care and Compassion
- Demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative and productive relationships.
- A strong community and service ethic and commitment to deliver exceptional service.
- Possess a positive outlook, exceptional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
- Display a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to following the School’s child safety expectations, principles and policies.
- Have a current Employee Working with Children Check
- Hold current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates, or be willing to obtain prior to commencement.
- Must have a current National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months) or be willing to obtain prior to commencement.
